Prothrombin and Activated Partial Thromboplastin Reagents
Reagents used to perform prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) tests on clinical blood samples. These tests are part of a coagulation study used to determine how quickly a patient's blood clots.
Thrombin is a coagulation factor IIa. It is a serine endopeptidase that hydrolyzes peptide and ester bonds specifically at the carboxylic side of Arg. The enzyme converts fibrinogen to fibrin. The product contains EDTA and additional stabilizing agents.
